Plants vs. Zombies: Gardening Has Never Been This Stressful

Zombie games are usually about shotguns and chainsaws. Plants vs Zombies asks a brave question: “What if we fought the undead with corn?”

This is a tower defense classic. You have a house. You have a lawn. And a bunch of cartoon zombies want to eat your brains. Your only defense is a packet of seeds.

It sounds cute, and the art style is adorable. But PvZ unblocked gets sweaty fast.

You have to manage your economy (Sun). You have to build your defenses (Peashooters). You have to block the enemies (Wall-nuts). And you have to do it all while a guy with a bucket on his head is eating your front line.

Each zombie type has a weakness. The Screen Door Zombie blocks shots. The Pole Vaulting Zombie jumps over your plants. The Dancing Zombie… summons backup dancers. You have to react to all of them.

How to Play Plants vs. Zombies

If you just plant random stuff, you will lose. You need a lawn layout.

The Controls:

  • Mouse: Click seeds to pick them up, click grass to plant them.
  • Shovel: Dig up a plant to make room for a better one.

The Winning Lawn Setup:

  1. Sunflowers Go in the Back: Your Sunflowers produce “Sun” (money). They can’t fight. Put them in the back two rows so they are safe. You need at least two full columns of them.
  2. Peashooters in the Middle: These are your soldiers.
  3. Wall-nuts in the Front: These are your tanks. They have good health. Put them in the front to stall the zombies while your Peashooters do the damage.
  4. Potato Mines are clutch: The Potato Mine takes time to arm itself, but it kills instantly. It costs very little, Sun. Use it early in the game to kill the first few zombies while you save up money.
  5. Snow Peas: These slow down zombies. A slow zombie takes twice as long to eat your plants. Always have at least one Snow Pea per row.

Night Levels:

When the sun goes down, your Sunflowers stop working. You have to switch to Mushrooms. They are cheaper but havea shorter range. It completely changes the strategy. If you like the strategy element but want a sports vibe, you might enjoy managing a team in Retro Bowl. If you prefer doing the shooting yourself instead of letting a plant do it, head over to 1v1.LOL.
